How Our Technology Helps

At Oxford University Eyecare, we know that our technology is crucial for creating an engaging and productive patient experience. We invest in different technology and diagnostic tools to provide our patients with accurate assessments and treatment options.

Our technology helps us:

  • Diagnose eye conditions early
  • Recommend tailored treatment plans
  • Monitor your eye health over time

Getting a Closer Look at Your Eyes

The details of your eyes and vision are essential for helping our team determine the right treatment plan for your needs. We offer retinal imaging, visual field testing, and other diagnostic tests and tools to help us get the complete picture when it comes to your eyes.

Some tests are performed regularly during your yearly eye exam. In addition, other tests may be recommended if we find anything irregular.

Optos Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging

Our Optos system offers ultra-widefield retinal imaging, allowing us to capture detailed images of the retina and the back of the eye.

This technology provides a comprehensive view of your eye health, enabling early detection and management of various eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment.

The ZEISS visual field analyzer helps us assess your peripheral vision by mapping out areas where your vision may be impaired. This test is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as glaucoma and neurological disorders for timely and effective treatment.

The Optovue OCT (optical coherence tomography) retinal scanner provides high-resolution cross-sectional images of the retina. This noninvasive imaging technique allows us to detect and monitor retinal conditions, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, with remarkable detail.

Firefly Slit Lamp Imaging System

The Firefly slit lamp imaging system enables us to capture detailed images of the front part of your eye, including the cornea, lens, and iris. This technology is essential for diagnosing and managing conditions like cataracts, dry eye, and corneal infections.

The iCare tonometer measures intraocular pressure (IOP) without requiring numbing drops. This quick and gentle method helps us monitor and manage conditions like glaucoma, providing vital information about your eye health with minimal discomfort.

Eyewear & Contact Lens Technology

Along with our imaging technology, we offer a variety of different technologies to help you get the right fit and correct your vision for your glasses and contact lenses.

Our team prides itself on not taking any shortcuts and creating a comprehensive patient experience from the initial appointment to picking out glasses and fitting contact lenses.

Oculus Keratograph 5M & Topography

Our Oculus Keratograph 5M provides precise topographic mapping of your cornea. This detailed information is essential for fitting specialty contact lenses and managing conditions like keratoconus.

The topography helps us understand the shape and curvature of your cornea, ensuring accurate and personalized care.

Our Marco automated refraction system helps enhance the accuracy and efficiency of your eye exams. By automating the measurement of your refractive errors, this technology helps us determine the precise prescription for your glasses or contact lenses.

The Coburn lens edger helps us find the precise cutting and shaping of lenses for your eyewear. This advanced equipment helps create custom lenses that fit precisely into your frames.

Digital screens are more prevalent than ever in our lives, whether for work or entertainment. Neurolens is designed to provide relief for patients dealing with symptoms of digital eye strain, such as eye fatigue, neck pain, and blurred vision.

Neurolenses use a contoured prism design that can correct eye misalignment and deliver more comfortable, clear vision.
