Comfortable & Safe Contact Lens Wear

Contact lenses can be an excellent option if you’re looking for a change of pace from your glasses. They can offer the same vision correction you’ve become accustomed to with some additional benefits.

There are also specialty contact lenses, like scleral lenses, that can help make contact lens wear more comfortable for patients dealing with conditions like dry eye or keratoconus. We offer comprehensive contact lens exams, fittings, and specialty options to help you find the right type of contacts for your needs.

Getting a precise fit is crucial for your eye health. Contact us to schedule your contact lens exam today.

Your Contact Lens Exam

Our contact lens exams begin with a detailed assessment of your eye health and vision needs. Using the Oculus Keratograph 5M topography device, we obtain precise measurements of your corneal curvature and overall eye structure.

This technology helps us tailor the perfect fit for your contact lenses, prioritizing your comfort and vision clarity.

How Contact Lenses Help

Like your glasses, contact lenses correct refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism.

We also offer various specialty contacts, like scleral lenses, to help manage eye conditions like dry eye and keratoconus. During your exam, we will review your lifestyle, eye health, and preferences to help you find comfortable contact lenses.

Fitting Your Contact Lenses

Before prescribing your contact lenses, our team walks you through a contact lens fitting. We perform various measurements during your fitting to find the right lens type and fit for you. We will also teach you how to insert, remove, and care for your contacts.

Our goal with a contact lens fitting is to help you feel comfortable and confident with your new contact lenses.

Scleral Contacts & Other Contact Lens Options

Contact lenses typically fall into 2 categories: soft and rigid, gas-permeable (RGP). Specialty lenses are also sorted into these categories. We offer several lens types to help address various vision, eye health concerns, and achieve your best vision.

Our team takes everything into account and uses the results of your contact lens exam to determine the right lenses for your vision needs.

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are RGP lenses that sit on the sclera (white part of your eyes), unlike traditional contacts that rest directly on your cornea.

Scleral contacts can be an excellent option for patients who have trouble wearing contacts due to eye conditions like dry eye and keratoconus because they can provide extra breathability, comfort, and hydration. They are also wider than traditional lenses, vaulting over the cornea to create a fluid reservoir.

Toric lenses are specifically designed to correct astigmatism, a condition where the cornea or lens has an irregular shape, causing blurred or distorted vision.

Unlike standard spherical lenses, toric lenses have different powers in different meridians to address the unique curvature of the cornea.

Multifocal contact lenses contain multiple prescriptions to correct multiple vision issues in 1 lens. They are often recommended for those with presbyopia and other refractive errors, like hyperopia or myopia.

Having multiple prescriptions in a single lens can help you comfortably switch between activities like reading and driving without changing your contacts.

Hybrid Lenses

Hybrid lenses combine the benefits of both rigid gas-permeable (RGP) and soft contact lenses. This innovative design merges a central rigid lens with a soft outer ring, offering the best of both worlds.

Hybrid lenses are ideal for those who need clear vision correction and want comfort similar to that of soft lenses.

We also offer SpecialEyes custom toric and multifocal contacts designed to address more complex vision needs with precision and comfort. Whether you require specialized lenses for unique visual needs or prefer daily wear options, we can meet your needs.
